How to Source Chargers & Cables from China (2026 Guide)

The charger market in 2026

Charging is the largest accessory category by revenue: GaN wall chargers, multi-port USB-C PD hubs, magnetic wireless packs and cable assortments. Shenzhen and Dongguan host the deepest supplier base — including ODM giants behind many Western brands. Browse chargers & cables manufacturers to map the field.

Certifications are non-negotiable here

Chargers are regulated electrical products. For the US market you need FCC (and ideally UL/ETL listing); for the EU, CE under the Low Voltage and EMC directives plus RoHS; UK sellers need UKCA. Power banks additionally ship as dangerous goods (UN3480, Class 9) — factor certified packaging and courier surcharges into your landed cost.

Ask each supplier for certificate numbers and validate them on the issuer's public database. Our certifications guide shows exactly how to verify CE and FCC documents in minutes.

How to evaluate a charger factory

Ask four questions: (1) Do you manufacture in-house or assemble bought-in boards? (2) Which cell/IC brands do you use? (3) Show me your production-line EOL testers. (4) What is your annual output of this exact SKU? Factories that answer with specifics — and let you video-inspect the aging room — are almost always real manufacturers.

Compare capabilities and MOQs across verified suppliers on the Shenzhen charger manufacturer cluster page, then request paid samples from your shortlist.

Cables: where quality is won or lost

Cable failures come from four points: connector strain relief, solder joints, wire gauge and jacket material. Require tin-plated copper (not copper-clad aluminum), a bend-test report (typically 10,000+ cycles) and Apple MFi certification if you sell Lightning products. USB-C cables must be USB-IF certified to legally carry the USB logo.

Pricing, MOQ and negotiation

Typical MOQs: 1,000–3,000 units for chargers, 3,000–5,000 for cables. Quotes improve meaningfully at 10K units. Always price FOB Shenzhen/Yantian and confirm the Incoterm in writing; run your numbers through the landed cost calculator before committing.

QC and compliance testing

Beyond factory QC, budget for third-party testing: electrical safety, EMC and, for Amazon sellers, a compliant test report pack per marketplace. Book pre-shipment inspection with AQL 1.0 on critical defects — charger recalls are expensive and marketplaces delist fast.
